WHAT IS THE FSSAI LICENSE?
Every food-related business in India has to follow specific rules and regulations related to the quality and service they provide. FSSAI is an independent Government body that certifies these businesses to carry out their business activities. FSSAI possesses the right to control all the standards and criteria for compliance.
WHY FSSAI?
FSSAI was established under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. FSSAI registration has to be done before initiating any food-related business. On the application for the registration, a 14-digit FSSAI number is issued to every business related to food. Manufacturers have to display this number on their food packets, and service providers must display this number on their premises.
Who Require to obtain FSSAI license
Small scale or cottage industries
Small scale or cottage industries related to the food businesses with the aggregate turnover not exceeding INR 12 lakh.
StallHolders
A petty retailer of food, juice stalls, sweet shops, hawkers, and small stallholders.
Hawkers
Hawkers selling food on a movable cart or foot.

Basic FSSAI License

► Constitution of Business such as Incorporation Certificate, Partnership Deed, etc
► Plan stating Food Safety Management System
